This is hands down the best Japanese Italian restaurant in California that I have ever been to. It has been 15 years since my husband has been coming here. There is always a high level of quality and deliciousness to the food. You will be able to enjoy Japanese-style Italian pasta dishes. There are a variety of options available for you to choose from. The combination of hamburger and pasta is a favorite of ours, and the curry is also well worth trying. There is no doubt that each dish is prepared with great care and love. It is interesting to note that the chef (owner?) has never changed. It is a same person since it opened. They play jazz music and you will find yourself at peace in that restaurant. The server is very nice n we love him too! Overall you won’t be disappointed in experience dining here!!

Akane Chaya 最高に美味しい!! So delicious!! The lady waitress is friendly!! Great service!! I rely on free iced tea before 12pm!! I love spaghetti so soft & well cooked dine in during lunch time except dinner with my family. So satisfying!! 大満足だ!! As busy as it gets!! Great Japanese bistro style Gardena restaurant in the Pacific Square shopping center that serves up Japanese Wafu style Hamburger steaks, Katsu, pilaf, and some good pasta dishes. Friend took me here since hes been going here for over 20 plus years and I was very impressed. Ordered the Kinoko (mushroom) Hamburger Steak with Demiglas Sauce which was tender and tasty, friends had Carbonara pasta with bacon and Seafood Pilaf. Dinner also came with bread and salad or soup, a filling meal. Would highly recommend, friendly service and great food🤙🤙

🇯🇵 JAPAN (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - If you come with a big enough appetite, the best way to first experience Akane Chaya is through one of their enormous super combos, which add a plate of Japanese-style curry and white rice to already large portions of spaghetti, Hamburg steak, and pork cutlet. Any combo comes with a crisp green salad, hot soup of the day, and a freshly baked bread roll, making it plenty of food for two although it does not seem like anyone is sharing their delicious meals here.

My cousin introduced my wife and i to this place many years ago and weve been making trips out to Gardena ever since to give ourselves an excuse to get food here.i always get either the Super Combo A or C (Japanese Hamburger Steak or Pork Cutlet, Japanese Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, and a plate of Curry). My wife usually gets the seafood pastaboth of us however, always always always get dessert! their Parfait are just amazing and always such a treat (we love both the Strawberry and Pudding Parfait, and also very much enjoy getting the pudding ala mode)the staff have always been friendly, courteous, and attentive and the food always substantive and delicious. if you ever find yourself nearby and hungry i cant recommend checking this establishment out enough!

Really enjoyed my time here.Went to Akane Chaya solo because the hamburg steak tempted me. Despite its location being right next to a large parking lot Akane Chaya took care to not let that be distracting from the atmosphere and food by using curtains. The vibes are very relaxing and homey and on the quieter side, playing soft cafe jazz and having warm yellow lighting. The service was very considerate and making sure that you were enjoying yourself and that everything is good on your end. This is one of those locations where you should sit back, relax & enjoy yourself and simmer in the atmosphere as the food takes a little bit to make. But the wait is all the worthwhile because the food is delicious; the greens were fresh and crisp, the hamburg steak was tender but didnt fall apart and the pork cutlet was delicious, with the demi-glaze sauce tying everything in together really well. Overall this trip was really enjoyable and made me enjoy my time here, despite eating solo.

Today I tried Akane Chaya Salmon Scallop Spinach Cream Spaghetti Pasta which is really good and I like it a lot!! This is a good place for either Pasta, Curry, Rice Pilaf, or there Speciality which has a lot or variety. So the Menu that has Red Words means it is there Popular Meal!! So I recommend going to this place for a Japanese Pasta and other food variety for lunch or dinner!!

An youshoku place in the states. Japanese style western cuisine isn’t easy to find around the place. Here you can find multiple taste of pasta and good quality hamburger steak and proklet. The Japanese blend makes them different from Italian style but is a special type that you must try. And the dessert are great that worth a try.

Old school comfort Japanese restaurant!I hadnt visited in 30 years, and today had a great lunch here.Its kinda like time traveling coming to this restaurant. Still same owner slapping, massaging preparing my hamburg steak in the kitchen. Food is not fancy and I think its intended to be wholesome and familiar.Not too many things changed here, and for the better! On the wall is an aged sign that reads: No Checks accepted.I highly recommend this restaurant. Its worth traveling to visit if you are in to old school westernized japanese cousine.Iced coffee and iced tea was also very japanese!

Huge Otona no okosama lunch!Soft and juicy hamburg and al dente japanese style spaghetti. Around 23 dollars, came with salad, soup and rice or bread. They make bread.We went there on Saturday so it was busy and needed to wait for around 30 mins, but its worth. I would definitely come back again. Staff are very helpful and kind too!

Great japanese dinner style food. The hamburger steak is delicious. The make up is more like a meatloaf if you are curious of how the texture is. The spaghetti was delicious akane style and the beef curry was delicious and not too thick of a sauce consistency.

Go Big or Go Home and order the SUPER COMBO!I recommend combination B and D. Both combo includes the asari kinoko cream spaghetti (chopped clams, white and king mushrooms in cream sauce) and your choice of hamburger steak in demi-glace sauce (combo B) or 3 pieces of pork cutlet (combo D) plus soup, salad, potato salad and curry rice. The pasta had generous amounts of clams and mushrooms in a light cream sauce. The hamburger steak was tender and juicy and the pork cutlet was crispy and tender. The curry was good too.Food is made to order so please be patient. It is worth the wait.Go before noon and drinks are included with your meal.Friendly service and theres plenty of parking in the lot.

Went here for dinner on a Friday, we were seated promptly. I chose the C combination dinner and was very impressed with how flavorful the entire meal was. My pork cutlet was juicy and perfectly crispy, it was not greasy at all. I was able to easily slice through it with a butter knife. I paired it with the tarako spaghetti, it was very delicious. Next time I would like to try the meat sauce spaghetti and order the super c combination dinner since I would like to also try their curry. My dinner included a side salad with a yummy dressing as well as warm, fresh yummy bread rolls. My aunt got their hamburger steak plate and she said it was so moist and flavorful. The onions inside were so tender, it reminded us of meatloaf but better. If you ever pass by this place and wondered about stopping by and giving it a try, please do! We were definitely sleeping on this place even though it was on my list of restaurants to try. You will not regret it, the staff is so friendly and we will be coming back.

I was back in the South Bay and I wanted to go back to this classic restaurant. The first night I went, it was rented out so I had to come back the next morning for lunch. It was crowded. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the friendly staff. It brought me back to the old days. I had the combo plate with pasta and Hamburg steak. It was all delicious. I highly recommend Akane Chaya and I’m pretty sure you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Thank you for the great meal. I will be back.

The best Italian (Japanese) (or Japanese Italian fusion if you like) in SoCal.Everything is good, the combos are too much food at a great price, the iced coffee and banana juice are refreshing, and, the staff is friendly and helpful.They also have one of the best Hamburg steaks in the USA.Expect a little bit of a wait at most times, but its always worth it.

This unassuming restaurant is hidden in the midst Pacific Square Plaza. The inside includes a great ambiance whether for a date, just to catch up with friends, or even dining alone! On a random Wednesday night, I ordered seafood spaghetti with white cream sauce, delicious, generous amount of seafood. Didnt leave a heavy, after-feel.My 2 friends and I were there for a good 2 hours and no one rushed us. This may not be the place for you if youre in a hurry. Service is a bit slow, but then again the waitress was a 1 woman show. She acknowledged us every time we had a request.Overall, great experience and Id come again.

I had ordered takeout from this place for dinner one night and I was thoroughly impressed with the way they packed the food! My concern was the sauce from the pasta was going to mix with the sauce from the hamburger steak, but when I got home and opened up my takeout box, the pasta was in it own foil compartment, separate from the hamburger steak which was also in its own foil compartment! How cool is that!! I just love love love their attention to detail!Combo B:- Hamburger Steak with Chopped Clams and Kinoko Mushroom in a white cream sauce. You get the choice either rice or bread and I went with the rice. I also asked for bread, but they were sold out of the bread! Must be really good! The hamburger steak was a decent size and covered with a demi-glaze sauce, both paired nicely and quite delicious. The Hamburger was not dry at all and flavorful. I was also impressed with the rice served! It was probably one of the best rice I have ever had in the US! I dont know what they do or what kind of rice grains they use, but it was thoroughly cooked and I could still taste each grain! Thats perfection!The pasta was also very delicious! Cream sauce was flavorful and the pasta was cooked perfectly and not over-done. Clams were not chewy to the point where its just rubber and actually tender.The combo also come with a side of potato salad and toss salad with a house dressing. Both delicious. All in all, the food was great! They got the 5 star because of their attention to detail and the flavors of the food! Definitely coming back here!Service was excellent! Waitress was attentive and actually went to the kitchen to ask the chef how long it would take for my food to be ready. This shop is amazing.It was a nice restaurant where I could see that Japanese people were cooking the food properly.I think the pasta, hamburgers, and curry are all homemade.You can also add curry to the greedy set, so if youre a big eater, try this first.Everything was delicious, but the curry was the most delicious curry eaten in Japan.I was wondering why even Japanese people cant bring out the Japanese flavor.I thought there were many reasons for this, such as seasonings, water, my palate being different because I live in Los Angeles, and localization, but I feel like its different here.This is just speculation, but I wonder if they are proud of being Japanese.I would like to recommend them allI highly recommend the curry, and there are so many different types of toppings that you can go to here all the time.Im sure its a popular restaurant for families with children.I havent been able to eat all the types and menus, but the owner who serves customers? This is a delicious Japanese Western food restaurant.I had heard that it was delicious, so I decided to try it for dinner when I was nearby.Bring hamburger and spaghetti tooThe hamburger cutlet curry was also delicious.It was so delicious that it was exactly what I wanted to eat in a hamburger steak.My son ordered the spicy one,Tangy and delicious! I ate everything.The staff are nice and the portions are large so Im very satisfied.I couldnt finish it, so I took the spaghetti home.The demi-glace sauce is also light and doesnt weigh on your stomach.You can also take it home, and I will definitely come back again.Thank you for the meal.
