I’ve been tutored here for 3 years and it has been very beneficial. It’s not like I couldn’t learn the material myself, but it saved me so much time and hassle having a good tutor. The tutor is also another pair of eyes that can ensure your work is the best it can be. The SAT prep was also much better than the BodSAT program I was taking prior. I recommend AJ tutoring for all subjects but specifically SAT. I’ve been through various tutors and it is so easy to change your tutor, you can just tell the director that you want to try someone else and they will help you make the change.

My daughter and I recently worked with Enya Bours for my daughter’s high school application, mainly on test preparation and essay/interview preparation. We both loved the experience.Enya is always well prepared and organized for each session. She is patient and explains concepts clearly, making it easy for students to grasp. Her session is productive, all my daughter’s questions got answered and resolved after the session. Enya also guided my daughter with essay and interview preparation. Her insights and tips were invaluable, greatly improved my daughter’s writing and presentation skills. Enyas warm and encouraging attitude, together with her teaching skills, created a comfortable environment for her students. We 4 were clints of this school. And I can tell you that they are rapidly heading towards decline. The teachers are getting worse and you are at great risk of exposing your child.We had a difficult situation and I asked them for help naturally well paid from my side))))) They were negligent and set us up, they just forgot to give us the information we needed, it was just a misunderstanding that affected the whole further education of my child for the very worst.....My advice do not take this school you are very risky!

Michelle Ng was by far one of the best tutors Ive ever had. She knew how to keep the session relaxed and lighthearted while still keeping it focused & educational. She helped me improve my ACT Math skills (which I NEEDED help with) while also significantly strengthening my Reading and Writing skills (teaching me a myriad of tricks to shave seconds and improve my scores). It was always a pleasure to be able to learn from her, and I cannot recommend AJ tutoring enough for SAT and ACT prep.

Christina was an excellent SAT tutor! I always looked forward to going to my sessions because Christina made tackling the SAT a fun game and experience. She helped me improve my score by about 400+ points, and her strategies were very useful at increasing accuracy and improving time management on the test. I highly recommend AJ Tutoring with a special shout out to Michelle Ng. My daughter worked with Michelle on SAT/ACT test prep. She was able to comfortably engage with Michelle over zoom. Michelle guided her through test taking tips, helped refresh material as well as prepped her on material not yet covered in school. My daughter saw improvement in her test scores. I would work with Michelle again for any future testing or course needs!

I would highly recommend Daniel Pincus at AJ Tutoring if you are looking for an SAT or ACT tutor. He is very knowledgeable about the standardized tests and is an overall pleasurable person to work with! Daniel’s expertise on the tests is extremely beneficial. He teaches you many tips and tricks that you won’t find in the prep books that immensely help narrow down the correct answer and cut down on time. I definitely noticed an improvement in my PSAT after working with him and was very happy with my initial scores for other tests. Additionally, I would recommend AJ Tutoring in general. They have many great resources for preparing for standardized tests, such as their own practice materials and free practice test sessions where the environment is identical to that of the real one.

During the summer I had Christina for my Sat AJ Tutoring Sessions. Christina was an amazing tutor and helped me improve my SAT skills. She was very helpful and nice and had many great tips to offer. I have been coming here since August and everyone is so nice. Meaghan, the office manager, always welcomes you with a smile and I enjoy our conversations every time Im here. Hrag knows all the Bell kids and is interested in our well being. Christina is the best, most fun, awesome, chill Algebra 2 tutor I have ever had. I always looked forward to going to my sessions because Christina made math enjoyable. Also for SAT which made me score quite well not to brag. I would recommend highly investing your time here at AJ, Los Gatos, due to the warm inviting environment and loving people. I have had a very superb experience here at AJ Tutoring, with Jamie Nguy as my tutor. She tutored me in geometry originally, giving me supplementary practice problems to help me master key concepts. Now she tutors me in algebra 2, where I do exceedingly well, thanks to her constant support, encouragement, and perseverance in helping me understand the material. I would 10/10 recommend her as a math tutor, and AJ Tutoring is a really great place (they have the best free snacks)!

Jamie Nguy is a very helpful English tutor. Coming into AJ I was a bad writer who despised reading, but she taught me how to annotate while I read. She also taught aspects of a great essay. I appreciated the energy she brought to each session!I was also tutored by Christina Coravos, who helped me prepare for the Math II SAT Subject Test. She taught me test-taking strategies, such as plugging in numbers, and back-solve. She is patient and a joy to see each session.Overall, I would highly recommend both of these excellent tutors!

My experience at AJ Tutoring is truly amazing. Whenever I walk in, everyone is always so kind and always makes sure to say hi and how my day went. Tristan, my ACT tutor, is the best one Ive had. I enjoy talking to him about my day first, and then diving right into the work. One of the things I was most afraid of when I started the tutoring, was to be judged about my level of intelligence and understanding the criteria, but Tristan is very patient and goes through many steps with me to make sure I understand. AJ’s and their tutor Matt Furman were a ‘game changer’ for our son. He started with Matt to prepare for the SAT and then the ACT. Matt did an OUTSTANDING job preparing him academically for both tests but more than that, he prepared him emotionally for both. At a stressful time for a teenager, he was able to help our son stay calm and go into each test feeling prepared and relaxed which was huge for him. He was able to increase his ACT composite score by three points from one test to the next. His belief in our son and his abilities gave him the confidence he needed to go into each test knowing he would do better than before. I cannot say enough about Matt and AJ Tutoring, would recommend it to everyone and do! Finding the right tutor for your child is key but from what I have heard, AJ has many to work with so that you will for sure find the right one. The interview I had with the AJ employee to find the right tutor for my son worked well, they knew his personality and who would be the best fit for him … and he sure was!! My son is finished with the testing process but would happily go back to work with Matt if he needed to, he was a great influence and mentor for our son and cannot thank him enough!!

I am a high school senior and I will be attending UC Berkeley in the fall. I have had the opportunity to be an AJ Tutoring student for a little over a year now. Jessica Loebs/Embrey worked with me for SAT prep last year, and her positive attitude, helpful strategies, as well as sense of humor helped me to dramatically improve my scores. Specifically, she helped me boost my score to a 740 on the writing section! Jessica also helped me prepare for the SAT subject tests last year, and this year we meet twice a week for AP Calculus AB tutoring. Our daughter struggled with calculus in school and could have easily become turned off by this very challenging subject. Thanks to Jessica our daughter likes (!) the subject, and were extremely pleased with how much our daughter has learned--both of which were the outcomes we hoped for. Hrag, my geometry tutor, is very understanding and he helped me when I struggled and also explained things to me that were even beyond the curriculum that I needed to learn. Jamie Nguy tutored me for 5th grade reading and writing this year. What Iliked about the tutoring was that I learned a lot about Introductory clauses and FANBOYS conjunctions. I also learned how to write a better summary. Jamie is very kind, understanding, funny, and cool, so I really enjoyed learning with her. My daughter had an excellent result with her SAT prep at AJ Tutoring three years ago. So when my son was struggling with Trig/Pre-Calc Honors last year, I thought of AJ Tutoring right away. My son was spending countless hours on homework that was leaving him exhausted and frustrated. This negatively impacted all of his other classes because he had less energy available for them. But as soon as he started working with Hrag, everything changed. Junior year of high school is stressful for anyone, but with Hrags help, it became much more manageable. Not only is Hrag thoroughly knowledgeable about the material, he also takes the time to get to know his students and tailors his teaching style to whats best for them. He is highly engaging and cares deeply about his students. Since my son started working with Hrag, he has never complained about going to his weekly tutoring session and his math grades have been much improved. Last year was such a positive experience that we signed up for Calculus tutoring with Hrag this year. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

My daughter was very apprehensive about starting with a new tutor, but instantly hit it off with Naomi. We started tutoring to mainly focus on math for my middle schooler. Naomi helps her truly understand the concepts which has boosted my middle schoolers confidence in Math. On days when my daughter needs help in other classes Naomi is able to help her as well. I began tutoring with Hrag in Algebra 2 over a year ago where he helped me raise my overall class score by two letter grades! Hrag is very approachable yet professional and our sessions are very productive. I tried other tutors and they were terrible in comparison. Although AJ is expensive, it is worth it because of the level of quality and productivity Hrag offers. Hrag currently tutors me in Trigonometry Advance Topics and shows me why we do things instead of blind memorization. My son (who is usually a straight A student) was having a hard time in Trig and his grade had dropped to a D at one point. I found Hrag at AJ tutoring who within weeks brought his test grades up to an A. In fact, on the last test my son got one of the highest grades in the class. I came here for ACT prep and had Christine Roberts as a tutor. I requested that we work on reading and science sections the most because those where what I felt as my weakest subjects. On the exam I got a composite score of 32, a 36 (perfect score) in reading and a 34 in science. Could not be happier with the results!

I had a very bad experience with the tutor named Christine R. at the old Los Gatos location. She was the tutor of my son. She is absolutely useless. It was waste of time and money. I do not recommend her or recommend AJ Tutoring to any one. I will not call or use AJ Tutoring again.

Hrag Tarbinian is a fantastic math tutor! My son cannot say enough nice things about Hrag. In his words, Hes super smart, super interesting and just a cool person! Specifically, my son is working with Hrag on Algebra 2 Accelerated. He is also certified to tutor Calculus. Hrag is extremely conscientious, organized and responds to emails/calendar issues very quickly. My son feels so fortunate to be working with Hrag and able to benefit from his wonderful knowledge and teaching skills.
