Dr. Choroomi and his staff at Agoura Dental are very attentive and know their stuff. Easy to make appointments and quick in and out for general cleaning. Finally a dentist where I don’t feel like they’re trying to “sell me”! For example, I had a small cavity and instead of bringing me in for a filling Dr. told me to be a better flosser and filling probably wouldn’t be needed! 😀

Dr. Choroomi was so efficient with my wisdom teeth extractions!! One of them was infected, and he was very compassionate in treating the swelling/pain first. The extractions themselves were so quick and I didn’t feel them at all. Truly very experienced and knowledgeable. Staff is very flexible about scheduling as well. Would definitely recommend!

I just started going to Agoura Dental this past year, due to my insurance changes, and I am so happy I did! All the doctors, hygienists, and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. The dental studio itself is state of the art beautiful! And not only is it breathtaking to walk into, its very clean. I was especially impressed that all the hygienists and staff used careful precautions before entering each room( I.e, wash hands rinse with mouthwash). As a patient, I felt very safe each time I had my appointments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Choroomi is a great dentist with great bedside manner. I came in with 2 teeth that were in a lot of pain and needed root canals, but Dr Choroomi made the surgery very pain free and worry free. I wanted extra numbing for my mouth and he was happy to make sure I felt comfortable. He explained everything in my x-rays too, and was honest and kind, being straight and honest about whats going on with my dental health and what to do to help prevent it, but never once making me feel bad or uncomfortable about it.Took great care of my teeth and Im so happy to be able to chew without pain anymore.Joanna is also a great hygienist and has my teeth feeling clean, without any pain.Totally recommend!

This is the worst dentist visit I have ever encountered in my life. The dentist cleaned my teeth then said I had major cavities in my lower jaw that need to be fixed right now. It would only cost 1500 dollars. He was totally up selling me. I checked with another dentist and there are no problems with my teeth. I do not trust them at all, they are doing work that does not need to be done. Be careful if you go there.

Im a nervous wreck when it comes to getting dental work done and theyve made me feel SO much more at ease when Im there. My insurance only covers 50% so Ive been given different payment options to work with (like Care Credit and only doing one procedure per visit) and that has been SUCH a big help! Website says that they open at 9am. I was stood outside from 9am till 9:30am and called their number . Local postman was delivering mail and he said that it was common for them to not be open. No notice in the window to give any reason why they hadn’t opened.Eventually gave up waiting.I got a call back at 10:30am by which time I had already made an appointment with another local dentist.No reason given and no apology for not being open at their stated time. Poor service.

I am so satisfied with my experience everytime that I come into this office. I came in for an exam and unfortunately found out I needed to have quite a lot of work done, I was fearful of the pain and the price of all the treatment but Agoura Dental Group makes everything so simple. They are very professional and make sure you are comfortable at all times, as far as payment goes they are totally reasonable and offer many options for payment plans. Not to mention Dr. Choroomi is AMAZING, such a kind man who is genuinely good at what he does. The office is absolutely gorgeous down to he last detail (you wouldnt even know you were in a dentists office) and his office staff are some of the sweetest people Ive ever met. Customer service is never something I thought to go hand in hand with dental/medical offices but at Agoura Dental Group they put so much time and endless effort into making sure their patients are happy and well taken care of. I have been going to Dr. Choroomi for about twelve years. He is a very nice and attentive man and takes as much time as needed. He never seems to be in a rush, which is the last thing I would want when having dental work done. I am very sensitive to pain and avoided the dentist for many years after bad experiences. I took my children to him when they were young, and now they both are willing to travel between one and a half to two hours to continue to have him as their dentist. I believe he does a great job of keeping our teeth healthy.

My hair stylist recommended that I go to Dr. Choroomi at his practice in Agoura Hills. He had lots of dental work done and spoke highly of him. I made an appointment for a free exam and x-rays. I knew I needed some work done and after meeting the doctor and the staff I decided to finally get my teeth fixed. I needed to fix some of my old silver fillings and one broken tooth that needed a crown. Dr. Choroomi was extremely skilled and gentle at the same time. I am very happy with the outcome. Kate, the front office lady filled my treatment with my insurance and got all of my procedures approved. I only needed to pay a small part of it. Definitely would recommend this practice.

It is not so common you feel really good visiting your dentist, but Dr Amir is not only a really good dentist but also such a wonderful and nice person, and together with his beautiful wife and great staff they all make it a really nice experience visiting the office. First time he did a deep cleaning on my teeth I was so afraid, since I had some really painful ones done before by other dentists, so when he said we were done I was so stunned since I was still waiting for the painful part to begin. He does not rush rush between patients but takes time to connect with you, and me and my family have been going to Dr Amir for a few years now, and I am very pleased with the work and they way he takes care of us and our teeth. I had a bicycle accident recently and I lost three front teeth. I went to Dr Choroomi as a walk in patient, not knowing what to expect and Im happy to report that he came through brilliantly for me in every respect. He replaced the missing teeth with a very natural and aesthetically pleasing bridge. Im fairly new to the area so when I made my appointment with quite possibly the friendliest person on the phone, I was already comfortable. My son used to see a dentist in the valley and we heard about Agoura Dental group so we thought we would give it a try. I love that they offer ortho services as well as many dental options. They take most insurance and even take Care credit which is great if you have to get braces or expensive dental work done. The staff is so amazing and so friendly!! Dr. Choroomi is the best. It was Mothers Day morning when I broke my front crown. I was mortified. So I called around several places near my area and all the dental offices had recordings or the line just kept ringing. Of course, it was a Sunday and a holiday to boot. But when I called Agoura Dental, someone actually answered the line. It was one of the dental hygienists who was taking call that day. How awesome is that - right away I was impressed with the business. I wish I could remember her name but she was so kind and friendly even though I was interrupting her time with her mother. She said shed have the doctor call me to see if he can see me that same day. Shortly after she called me back and said the doctor wanted to see me first thing in the morning. Then a couple hours later Dr. Choroomi called me to see how I am feeling and advised that I hold onto any remnants of the crown that may have chipped off. I was so impressed by the fact that he was taking time from his family to call a new patient. I went in the next morning and was greeted by a very friendly staff. Like another yelper wrote about Agoura Dental, I experienced no judgment for being so neglectful of my teeth. They had deteriorated, in part, due to radiation I had received to my neck and throat from treatment for Hodgkins several years back. And I just avoided the dentist because I my fear of the pain. I wont lie, the work Ive had done is a little painful, but Dr. Choroomi has made every effort to make sure Im comfortable. He can be very soothing as well as the rest of the staff. Im having a lot of work done but he spends the time explaining what he is doing and next steps. The best part of the whole experience is that I never have to sit in the waiting room for more than a few minutes. Even if Im early, they take me in right away. I love not having to wait like Ive had to with other dentists in the past. This is a very efficient office and team at Dr. Choroomis practice. I highly, highly recommend Agoura Dental. He is very aware of, and a great manager of, pain.He is also much more honest than any other dentist I met. I was told by another dentist that I needed 2 root canals. A friend of mine recommended Agoura Dental for a second opinion. After a detailed examination I was told by Dr. Amir that I did not need any root canals and just needed to replace my old fillings. I personally don’t like going to a dentist, but this was the first time that I had a good & a pain free experience. I don’t have a dental insurance, but Dr. Amir made it possible for me to pay in installments which was a plus. Why didnt I find this office first!?After lots of x-rays and visits to other dentists, I finally landed at Agoura Dental which they saw me as an emergency patient in there office. With superior service and friendly smiles with in an hours time Dr. Amir was able to not only stop my agonizing pain in my mouth by extracting the necessary teeth that were bad, but he also gave me a huge discount for a bone graph that was desperately needed! I found 101 Dental though a Groupon. The deep 4-quad cleaning was much, much cheaper than any place else I researched. (However, there was an unexpected $189 fee for a antibiotic treatment I didnt suspect Id be needing - I was given the option to not do it, though. I erred on the side of caution.) The staff and Dr. Choroomi took time to explain everything they were doing, and they were very personable. I wish I could give this place 5 stars and at the start I was thinking to. But I decided to wait to give my honest review after I finish my treatment for Invisalign. First month in, my appointment gets rescheduled to the next month (mind you, the braces/invisalign ortho comes in only once a month). So my treatment started a month later than expected. Fine. Started the treatment and everything was great. Easy to make appointments, came in as scheduled, a bit of a wait time but no big deal. I changed my trays every two weeks as advised. And came in every other month to get the next batch of trays and check to see the progress. Sometimes appointments got rescheduled a month later, but I just kept maintaining and using the last tray.Later on I was supposed to finish my last tray and get molds for my retainer. I got my last tray and kept it for a month because they scheduled me the next month. I got a call the day I was supposed to come in, that there was a family emergency and I would be contacted on when I’d be rescheduled. At the end of the month I was asked to come in, I got my mold for the retainer and was told to keep in the same last tray until the next month. Now the same tray is in for two months. I go to the front desk to schedule my appointment and they schedule it on a day that I would be traveling for a week. I explained that so they said okay they will have to schedule me on the next month after. So now I’m 3 months with the same tray (gross) and am waiting for the retainer. So still haven’t finished my treatment, even though it was supposed to take only a year. Hopefully the results will be worth it. Price is reasonable but the service could be better.

I originally contacted this place because of the high reviews. I didnt get a call back initially after leaving a vm during office hours but i figured with the reviews it would be worth trying again. Place was very nice looking (inside) so got an appointment. After the paperwork i was quickly put in a room but then started moving around. cleaning room, xray, cleaning room, to a room with a chair, then to another cleaning room. I advised it had been an hour and a half and i still havnt began the cleaning. i was advised the tech was behind schedule. I said it has been quite some time and the rep advised well first appointments are typically an hour long with an attitude. I told her its been an hour and a half. She then said 2 more minutes and we would be on our way. Another 5 minutes later i walked out. I wondered how such a highly rated place could be so bad. Then i saw the sign in their rooms to get a starbucks gift card if you leave a review. Smart...suckered me into going. Lastly i also asked about ortho and the doctor seemed to be almost competing with that side of the business. He wants to push cosmetic veneers over his colleague/outsourced rep who does braces. He wasnt out right saying not to do it but it seemed odd in a very off putting sales person kinda way.

Went in for a routine cleaning today. The receptionist and woman who took pictures of my teeth were very friendly and professional. The hygienist, however, about lost her panties after seeing that I had some mild gingivitis from making an effort to floss before I came (I dont do it often enough, so when I do, my gums become irritated and bleed a bit... surprise!). She wanted to do films, which I had already declined due to having had them done back in November, and seemed offended when I again declined. She also mentioned doing some kind of plaque removal below my gum line with local anesthetic, which sounded like a cosmetic upsell. I again declined. She then proceeded to spend approximately 1.5 minutes doing a cursory job of inspection and cleaning with the scraping tool (which is the majority of the reason I go to the dentist on a regular basis). The friendly woman whos credentials I am unsure of then came back to polish my teeth and apply fluoride. All this aside, I probably never would have written this long and boring review if I had actually seen the dentist at some point. Not even a hello or a handshake! Unacceptable in my opinion. Its the equivalent of going to see an MD, and only seeing the nurse (Im an RN, so yes, Im allowed to say that). Have to say I walked out feeling that it was a waste of my 35 dollar copay. I guess the fact that this place is located in a strip mall should have been warning enough.

Bait and Switch at its finest. I was advised I needed a bridge about 1.5 years ago by this office. I got a temporary put in during the 2 wk healing process. When I went in for my appt. they claimed they called me (over an hour ago) to advise a reschedule. I checked my phone and it was only 20 min ago. So the front desk (Lisa) blatantly lied. I ended up not going back.Fast forward to today. My temp. falls out. I called and spoke with Teresa and explained everything. She advises me I can come in and one of the girls will mold a new temp.. There may be a small fee for that (Unlike before I do not have insurance and I spoke in length to Teresa about this), but the doctor can work with you on that. So I left work early only to wait 2 hrs only to be told, its unethical for the doctor to put in a new temp. as is. They have to resize it and it will be $950 for the temporary or $2900 for the bridge!?! TOTAL BAIT AND SWITCH. Then they tried to defend themselves with another sales pitch to justify it. If you’re a professional you should have known this in advance when I explained the amount of time that had elapsed and you should have pulled my file prior to telling me to come in.Also, Dr. Choroomi is a very poor listener and seems only concerned with $$$. He ask questions, clearly ignoring responses (he literally walked away while I was responding) only to ask another question in which I just answered.Overall they seem to lack transparency, are unethical, unprofessional, and simply money hungry salesmen and women. Teresa seems kind, but what was done to me was wrong.
