Ace is the place!Great customer service. I love that I can find special fasteners and parts for home projects. They have a great plant nursery also, and the best part is that they are dog friendly.

Our go-to local home supply. Great service and good inventory. Special order options that we have used are timely. Prices are inline with other big box retailers and shopping here keeps our $$ on our side of town to keep them open and serving this side of town. Sign up for Ace rewards! Overall, Ace Hardware for me is a good store to buy home improvement type products from if youre on that side of town. They surprisingly always seem to have what Im looking for, just that the prices seem to be 10-15% more than the bigger home improvement stores. But I do appreciate their location since they are on the opposite end of Chico, from Lowes/Home Depot. So, if Im tight on time and just picking up a few items, Ill head over there.The one exception is their gardening department - once they get new flowers/plants/veggies in for spring planting. They have some really good and unique varieties that I cant find elsewhere easily. So, I always check that out a few times once Ive noticed they have new stuff displaying out in front of the store.Ive also experienced that their internal Ace Hardware product line is pretty solid too. Im always nervous about buying private label products as they always seem inferior and never last long.

Dont expect to get anything thats locked up in store you will be standing around waiting for nothing, just order it online. Workers will just pass you around as an unwanted responsibility of having to deal with you and never actually get it done. i stood over 30 minuets asking 3 different helpers and not a single one came to help me unlock what I needed.

Store organization is pretty good. I had an indecent experience with this store. I called ahead of time to see if they had the shampooer rental I needed. The front desk person said they dont carry the small shampooers (despite BISSELL website saying they do) but they do have bigger ones with hose attachments that I could use for furniture cleaning. I show up and they dont actually have any hoses I can use. So if you call ahead of time to ensure a product is there, dont expect to get a true answer that will actually save you time. It ended up putting me way behind that day unfortunately.Customer service has always been polite here, and the prices are about average. They do sell frozen pies at the front which is fun and unique.

Unlike many other big box hardware stores this particular Ace was easy to navigate and the customer service was better than expected. Instead of being ignored while looking for that certain something an employee asks can I help you find something? So far all of the employees I have interacted with there have been both helpful and knowledgeable. Were glad the store opened in our neighborhood. Its got everything one might need for home improvement projects, gardening supplies, housewares, tools of all types and much more. Ace is the place yall.

Very pricey store even for the one in Orland and Corning. Customer service in the back far right corner lumber area were very weak. But they did have the cheapest box of latex gloves for a minute there. Like $12ish per box or was it $7 per box compared to auto parts at $20-$30 per box now. Plenty of parking space, easy parking, looks pretty safe also.

First time here since it switched from OSH. Needed fittings for a plumbing project that was installed wrong. Had no idea what I was looking for or how to properly describe it. One of the workers there younger guy with black hair and facial hair helped us out immensely. I had to come back a second time and told him the problem and after a few minutes he found the right combination of parts that solved our problem! Wish I caught his name to put in this review but he knew his stuff and made sure he worked with us until we got it solved. Definitely the kind of knowledgeable employee that a hardware store requires for good customer service!

I totally love this store! It is the most well organized and well lit hardware section in town, and it never takes more than a minute if I need to find someone to help me. They are very well stocked, and I frequently find something better than what I had originally gone in for.Their nursery is beautifully taken care of and it’s a good place to look for new plants when I want something new.

This is the largest ACE Ive ever been in! The store is immaculate and well stocked. All the staff I interacted with were smiling, friendly and eager to help as well as knowledgeable about products and store layout. Got a GREAT knife sharpener here. I had this same stone for 3 years, given to me by a good friend in Tennessee. I was devastated when I lost it, not knowing where to find another like it. I used Google lens to search an image of it and it turns out, theyre sold at ace! I think I paid about 13 bucks for it. WELL worth every penny. It comes with a case, but the belt strap broke on it the first time I wore it, so I made my own out of leather. I need to keep my blades razor sharp because I do custom leatherwork and I usually make the piece right there in front of you when you ask for it. A very handy tool indeed.

I was looking for a part for my swimming pool, and couldnt find it. Before I could even turn around to ask someone for help a young man named Kurt was right there at the ready. While they didnt have what I was looking for in stock, he informed me of when they would have it in stock. Despite the fact that the air conditioning was not working and it was over 100° outside that day, the entire staff seemed to have great dispositions and were extremely helpful. Had the best customer service experience today at Ace. I needed something to attach a shelving unit to the wall, and needed assistance finding the best option. I asked for help from Jake, who instead of telling me what aisle it would be on and sending me on my way, took the time and walked me to three different aisles showing me different options that would work, and didn’t leave until he knew I had everything I needed. I really appreciated the assistance as it would’ve taken me forever to find what I needed. Thank you!

In a nutshell: Great selection, great prices.They may not have exactly what Im looking for when Im looking for something very specific (like outdoor battery operated lights with a timer that also flash in a specific color), but I can always find general household items, tools and garden items.They have the best battery selection in town for a store that doesnt specifically sell batteries, from those little tablet batteries, watch batteries to D and everything in between.

Do not go here. The head manager Richard Coombs generally doesn’t care about customers especially the elderly. Monica and a girl named Brooklyn who were at register talk inappropriately about their own colleagues in front of us customers! Rude staff, who pushes and pushes people to give them 5 stars with promise of gift cards. Only reason I bet they have some 5’s. Tried on me about 5 times. Don’t expect to get help but do expect marsha to be rude to you.

The staff here is always very very helpful. When I needed a color match they did a great job on getting the color that I needed with a great quality product. My reason for the 3 stars as they are very expensive, the one gallon of paint that I got was good quality but it was probably about 8 to $12 more than it should have been. Same with some Lumber that I needed was over double the price of the big box stores and since its an Ace store this is also considered a big box store. They have locally owned type of exorbitant price for the same product you get for rum similar companies.

Ace is conveniently located near my home, so easy to hop over when I need something. I am constantly needing various birdseeds for my feeders and Ace generally has good prices on seed and other bird supplies.I also get various soils for planting in my tiny pollinators garden. I also get soil specifically developed for cacti and succulents.If you can find an employee to assist you, which is a feat unto itself, they try to be helpful. But there seems to be lots of employee turnover, so that new employees hardly know their own department, much less someone elses.I do like ordering online and either driving to their designated parking spaces for pick up or having them deliver. There can be a lot of customers in line, particularly on the weekends, so having them come to me while I read a book in the parking lot is wonderful.

They offer a large variety of items...my only problem is.... Its a bit time consuming looking for what I need. But that could just be me not everyone else.. other then that they have pretty much everything a household needs. A little more expensive then the box stores but worth the few extra dollars to avoid getting completely lost in the acres and acres of isles at the big box stores. Since I have knee issues and can only walk so long.. its nice to have a local place in my area of town to go to on the fly. I was sad when osh closed up but now Im grateful that another similar store took its place. The staff is very helpful and friendly and always greets you with a smile.Im glad they are here and i can always count on someone there to point me in the right direction when Im not finding what I need.

I always seem to gravitate towards the smaller than big box stores. They have most of what you would be looking for and at reasonable prices. They do not have huge stores of lumber, but as for what you would normally use in day to day functions, they have plenty.

My first time checking this newly opened store. It was surprising how much they stock inside there. They carry a lot of what we use and was really impressed with the specialty hardware that they carry. I go there for glass and plastic that I use for art. The hardware man spent a half hour at least cutting, wrapping and measuring the glass and plastic in a meticulous way. I cant see them doing this is a big box store. Also, the chain saw specialist spent several minutes explaining the problem afflicting my saw and taught me how to avoid and troubleshoot future problems. He was great. Service wonderfully personal.

Ace gets only two stars primarily due to untrained, mismanaged employees. I enjoy shopping at Ace. The store is laid out well, and its clean and I like the products they carry. I prefer it to Lowes or Home Depot. On a Sunday, I approached an employee about helping me find a specific product. The employee said everything I needed was on (provided aisle number) but clearly he didnt want to help me. In fact, he didnt even look at me. He just kept stocking and organizing. I walked over to the aisle and a few minutes later, a young guy approached me and said; Wass Up? like I was his bro or something. I explained to him that I was having trouble finding a product, and while he initially had a strange attitude, he was eventually helpful. The entire experience was pretty strange and disappointing. The cashiers are generally nice, but Management needs to train. Get it together, Ace. Make it a good place to shop!

Nice big store with lots of stock but my next impression was that they are overpriced. I simply needed some disposable paint buckets of the small variety and a 1 quart was $1.79 and a 2 1/2 quart $2.59. Being that there are an infinite amount of items in the world you can buy and get a filled with something, quart of anything, for less than $1.79, let alone an empty pail (and for $1 less at Wally World), I was quite unimpressed and dismayed at myself for not having the patience to simply buy what I needed elsewhere at a later time. First impressions probably will prevent me from returning. On a side note, I like that most other places of their like open at 6am.

I respect the fact that they are trying to keep their energy bill down. Its wonderful that they offer shoppers cold water because of their lack of air condioner. They always have a good selection of items I looking for. But their pricing is a little elevated and the lack of air condioner on the many Chico summer days of Temps well over 100 does not offset the higher prices unfortunately.

Well talk about wonderful customer service!!! I rushed into Ace Hardware at about 7 minutes till closing--i saw no other customers and it was obvious the staff was in the process of closing. However they greeted me as i flew threw the front doors and galloped to the paint section...and suddenly realized i had no clue WHERE the wood stain was located nor what color i wanted....and THEN there would be sandpaper to choose, what grit etc, and where was the sandpaper!?I had to ask for directions and to my surprise i was taken to the wood stain, to the sand paper, and when i hesitated to describe my project, apologizing for keeping the staff at the store late---HE TOLD ME IT WAS ABSOLUTELY OK AND THE IMPORTANT THING WAS THAT I WENT HOME WITH WHAT I NEEDED!!(if there were 10 stars I would give em 11!! And 2 thumbs up!)

We were bummed OSH closed down but this was a good replacement. They have a lot more home goods than I was expecting, and it is a great place to go when you need a few hardware pieces etc and dont feel like dragging yourself to the giant black hole that is Lowes or Home Depot. I stopped by for the Grand Opening on Saturday (10/19/19) and the parking lot was completely filled. I parked by Less Tires and walked over to there business. I havent seen that many people ever for a Grand Opening. The whole experience was definitely a two thumbs up. The layout is hasnt varied much since it was Osh. The staff was extremely courteous, helpful and for a Grand Opening they were in control. I purchased a couple of items at a very discounted price that I didnt need...lolI believe there off to a good start. As a community we need to support our local businesses and theyll be around to support us.

I always enjoy new stores and maybe it was the new scenery or the great selection of nuts and bolts but I liked looking around. I was greeted when I walked in and was offered help by 2 different college age kids. One, for thefree popcorn they offer daily and the second time while I was looking at approximately 20 different barbeque grills. No reason to not find the one thatll que for 10.
