Carmichael Ace is a trustworthy source of general hardware needs. There is always someone available at the front to answer questions and direct you to what you are looking for. All employees are friendly and helpful. Steve is a great guy who recently helped a complicated return easy. This is a great place!

Store carries practically everything for home and garden, including pet items. They are animal friendly, allowing socially tame pets to accompany shoppers. Staff is attentive, eager to answer any questions and help locate items. The two star rating is in distaste for the hoovering staff that is known to discriminate against customers based on their experience with past, not so welcome, customers. This public mortification of individuals is bad business and has been an uncomfortable experience to witness.

Little pricey pretty good service friendly people until it becomes 20 till closing time then Youre told when you walk in the door you have 5 minutes lol also they will not accept any bills that are not considered a new bill the older bills are not accepted ie. 50s / 100s I have left there and went to home Depot because of that but other than that pretty good store

Young man that came to help was not very knowledgeable, but had su h a great attitude I went with it and we got through my adapter problem. A woman employee came to help and she seemed more the expert, seasoned staff member casting a large shadow on th poor young man, but again, it all worked out. Friendly, competent staff, had what no one else carried in town, pruce was astronomical for a piece of brass.

Ive been in here 3 times in the past few months and every time I have had really helpful and quick service. I needed some hardware to fix furniture and equipment and the staff was able to find a replacement part quickly and were wanting to help. I find that if I go to a competitor of Ace like Lowes, the staff have loads of attitude if you ask for help or need to know where an item is, the staff at this Ace are happy to help.

I love this store! I needed the battery changed in my remote and Maggie knew exactly how to get my remote apart and replaced the battery in about a minute. Shes so friendly and professional. The store is great, fully stocked and everyone there will help you find whatever you need. By the way, dont buy potting soil or dirt from a nursery- you can get the same thing here for half the price!

Brought a brand new stihl chainsaw in that was purchased at another Ace hardware two hours away while I was out of town. I had receipt in hand, they wanted nothing to do with me simply asking for help with factory tune or to hear it run as brand new out of the box wouldn’t hold idle and needed full choke for hot start. Being a stihl dealer they should have seen the bar never touched wood and listened to it run and either tried for factory tune or done a warranty swap. The moment I said was bought at Ace out of town they wanted nothing to do with me and said you’ve gotta go elsewhere.

I definitely would give a Zero star if it was optional!! Let me just say that this Ace hardware store has the laziest employees ever encountered.. I was trying to get a warranty on my craftsman’s tool and the said the could not order what they don’t have in stock… I purchased the tool there too, instead of just order it they told me to go to Emigh’s hardware. And they told me all Ace had to do is order it!!! Wow amazing how they didn’t want to help a repeated customer out!! So needless to say they will not be getting my business and I hope there manager sees this post and make their employees do the right thing or you should never carry craftsmans products if you don’t DO WARRANTIES!!!

I purchased a pressure washer from the El Dorado ace and tried using it to remove some paint from my driveway, and it didnt end up working too well. I was in the Carmichael area and decided to try and return it at this store. However, they told me they werent able to return it due to it being open and being purchased at another store. I even asked if I had purchased it from their store if I would be able to return it, and they said no since it had been used. I will no longer be shopping here because if I buy a tool and use it, and am not satisfied by its performance I wouldnt be able to return it. I understand they will have to swallow the cost and sell the item at a discount, but in the long run, that cost would have been outweighed by the return business from myself. I have tried supporting this small business, but it seems like I will have to go back to the big box stores, which will keep succeeding as long as they keep their customers as a priority.

I always go to Ace Hardware for items not available in the big box stores. The hardware aisle has large cabinets with drawers full of items that I cant find elsewhere. If you need something like a cork for an antique bottle, you can find the right size. If you need a shoulder bolt, or a clevis pin for a trailer hitch, they have it. I design and build mechanical projects which require parts I cant get at Home Depot, or Lowes.There is always someone who greets me and asks if they can help me find something, and they always do. Most of the guys who help me are old timers like myself and they are a wealth of knowledge which comes from years of experience. If I ask them where I can find a barrel bolt, they know what Im talking about and show me where to find it. I dont mind paying a little more for the items I need because the parts availability and help I receive is worth it. The last time I went there was for ant spray. The guy who helped me explained the different types depending on my ant issue. Were they indoors or outdoors, were they around food, were they around drains looking for water? I no longer have an ant problem thanks to the employees knowledge. I urge the readers to try Ace Hardware for their hardware, garden and home repair needs and the quality service they provide. We all need to support the smaller businesses so they can survive the pressure of the big box stores which sadly have pushed a lot of mom and pop stores to extinction.

I want to give a shout out to this Ace Hardware and I’m sorry I don’t remember the man’s name but he helped me with my trunk that would not close when I went to work this morning.? I took it to the Folsom Honda dealership and they said the apparatus that works too close the trunk with the remote was loose and it needed a couple different screws that the Honda dealership does not carry in stock. They told me to go to Ace Hardware so I went to the store and I am sorry that I can’t remember the man’s name but he was really nice he took his time in 104° temperature to undo the backing on my trunk and help secure the latch! I really really appreciate his professionalism kindness and his help. They would not let me pay for any labor but only for the items used to fix and secure my trunk latch! So again thank you so much! I highly recommend this Ace Hardware for all of your hardware needs and they have some really great gift ideas as well! thanks again?

I went in on Saturday 4/10/21 around 2:00 pm, just to pick up a bottle of drain cleaner. While the store was very busy at that time, there was a young male employee walking around asking all of the patrons if they needed help with anything. I could not reach the top shelf to get what I needed. Normally I would have expected to go flag someone down for help, but he saw me and immediately came to assist and was very polite and wished me a good day. It was a very simple act, but very nice and noticed.

Every time I go in there are multiple friendly associates greeting me and offering help. Ive been going to this hardware store for over 30 years. Good sales & discounts thru out the store. Recently remodeled. They have added many more help to provide each customer with locating items. Quality items,appliances, tools & materialsCustomer service is A+/#1I moved out of the are but still go toAce in Carmichael for hard-to-find items. Its a hardware store yet has a nice section for woman. Tees gloves, apronsJewelry and household itemsthat make the work/chores easier.

The staff is very helpful. I was building something odd, but the young man was patient with me. I told him he didnt have to help me if he didnt want to, but he said that he didnt mind. He helped me with the design of my project. Now, I have a beautiful balcony that only needs a few more touches before its a respite for my dogs and I. Theres all sorts of neat things here. I spent my trip in the gardening section, so I cant say much about the rest of the shop.

I go here fairly often. The thing that amazes me about this store is its not very big, but they ALWAYS have what I need. I have gone in on a whim looking for some obscure things I thought for sure theyd have to order, but they had them in stock. For example, an odd filter size for my moms AC unit, and a vacuum cleaner belt for my model.The very best thing about this store though is the people. I love the staff here. Someone will always greet you and help you if you want (but not pester you if you dont).

This ACE is a nice store! It is well lit, well organized, and well staffed :) I was able to easily navigate to the hardware aisle where the bin setup made it a breeze to find the bolts I needed. Afterward, I looked around a bit at the wall of power tools and then the even bigger selection of hand tools! My experience at the register was pleasant as well, for the gentleman that helped me was very nice and handled my transaction quickly!I recommend stopping at this ACE.

This is the BEST hardware store in the area. It was a drive for me, coming from West Roseville, but it was worth the drive. The employees are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Once they ask you whether or not you need any help youll actually feel like youve been assigned a personal shopping assistant... An assistant who retains at least a small fraction of the general tool and hardware knowledge you have if youve ever built a shop class birdhouse. hey at least they follow you around right? There were at least 4 whole persons standing around waiting to follow some other lucky person... Just as soon as they walk in the door... Doesnt happen very often does it Steve? I mean that people walk in the door. Speaking of the manager Steve, and now Im aware Steve is the actual owner and manager of this super not busy store. Let me list the positives... As the owner Steve smiles sometimes as he watches his staff feverishly change the prices of the goods, he is advancing his quest to have the highest of anywhere Ive ever seen prices on just about every item. People like Steve love a good recession and they actually do love and benefit from the shoplifters as they make it actually beneficial to carry the insurance. I have a suspicion though that owners of these stores Steve included really would prefer to lose items or entire shipments accidentally on purpose so they can choose what they send to insurance and what they dont. FUN FACT stores hire companies like Loss prevention Inc and others to curb the shrinkage and shrinkage is super terrible right now ...like when Steve gets out of the pool like George costanza did .. theyre actually hiring the LPs of the world to watch their own employees because the employees are responsible for about 85/90% of the retail theft. I already spoke to Steve about the arbitrary discrimination I experienced in his store he knows I dont believe him when he says they were just being helpful. Know how I know? Well like men do I approached Steve to tell him face to face he offended me and what reason he had to assign me a personal shopper who knows nothing and is no help to a professional craftsman like myself. Steve, the owner of ACE hardware smirked and giggles nervously like a punk kid whos dad actually owned the store and hated that his rotten son is now in charge. Steve doesnt act like a man in situations that need men to remain calm. Steve hopes to instigate a real man whos passing along grievances in person before he jumps on the in internet to snipe. Steve hopes he gets to call the police on s inuch a man. Steve never was taught what men are about dont hold it aga in nst Him. As a man, a real one and as a 25 year electrician in Alaska and California I have to pronounce ACE hardware Carmichael and most of NorCal DOA. theyve extracted all the assets possible and the prices are simple too artificially high to ever be reasonable and Steve is in a bad way as he is definitely losing his store. Probably his marriage too that always seems to happen. If you are looking for anything other than a quality slingshot wrist rocket for $10 you are going to pay less anywhere else. Guess its tank you to Steve and his crew for the cheap and good slingshot.

Friendly folks. Fair prices. Had what I needed.Nice peppers, tomatoes, herbs, flowers, and other gardening needs outside. Once I got inside, I had some thing in my hands from outside, there was a guy that immediately offered to lighten my load so I could shop inside. Awesome! So I got what I needed and headed back up front with my selections. Upon arrival at the checkout stand, my items magically appeared and were added to my purchase.Fast, friendly, awesome people.Sort-of narrow isles, but somewhat well organized. Found what I needed in a mere ten minutes.

He explained everything to me, made me a new key, went to the car and tested, and just like that, have new key, transponder and all! Love the service at this place. Walk in the door and youll be immediately greeted by someone who knows where everything is and will take you there, and offer more info about the item or project. The prices are fair, and I appreciated when they recommended going to the big box store for a better selection on certain items. This will always be my first stop for my projects, though. Employees are following the customers even they ask to stop doing it . This leads to discomfort, annoyingness, arguments or been rude . They even escorted people out of the store for denying their assistance. I got 2 items, charged for 3 . Gave coupon to cashier (Not expired) for $5 and final cost went up. Clerk lied to owner about true story . Prices are 35-50% higher than Home Depot prices. Uneducated employee . After this bad experience neither my friends or I continue to shop here .

False advertisement!I ordered Mason Jars 64 oz 6pc on the Ace Hardware website. To get the store free delivery I had to order an additional product that was rather overpriced. The next day I received from them a cancellation of my mason jars. They did not give any specific reason for the cancellation. I was surprised because the day before they advertised the Mason Jars 64 oz as being in stock in every their store. I went online again and found that the item was still available. I called their customer service and their representative confirmed that I could order the item. When I requested an explanation, he contacted the store/warehouse - and informed me that Ace Hardware did not have any Mason Jars 64 oz at all, even in their warehouse! However, I still see that #Ace Hardware continues to advertise Mason Jars 64 oz 6 pc on their website and the Internet as they did before.

A store with personality : Nick helped me find everything I needed in no time. In the 5 trips I spent over $200. It was well worth it, finding the electrical and plumbing parts at Lowes or Home Depot woda taken hours. I was in and out in 20 min. (for 1st and biggest purchase.) Other trips taking care of those complications went quick and smooth as well. They had everything I needed.The last couple of times I went to Home Depot they were out of the most basic items.Parking at Ace is much better as well.Ill be BACK!

They asked and actually cared about what I needed. When I forgot that I needed a car fob battery replacement they not only found it immediately but replaced it for me! Ace hardware is a great store but unfortunately at this location the customer service is horrible straight trash. Ive never felt unwanted and discriminated in my whole entire life they just profiled me due to me having tattoos and they followed me around the store on multiple occasions but this time it was too much dad made me feel so unwanted and so unwelcome this time that Im never going to step foot in a Ace hardware again. What a joke! I went to there web site to order an ice chest for pickup. You can not order an item they have in stock for pick up? I called the store to see what the problem was, they told me the warehouse must be the problem, I ask the clerk if he would see if the item was physically at the store, he said that it was, and that it was the only one left. So I had an interesting experience at my local Ace Hardware today.I was picking up a few things for a project Im working on. Unable to find one specific item, I began looking for assistance. I approached 2 employees, one was turned away from me, the other looked at me at backed off. Probably because I had my face mask pulled down below my nose. The one fellow asked if I needed help...I said I have a question. He was at least 6 ft from me and immediately asked me to put my mask over my nose. I said I wouldnt be able to breathe and...before I could finish he said...I wont help you then and started to walk away. I responded with ok and put my mask up and asked him to come back over. He walked away. Since I was in a pleasant mood I opted to continue on looking for the item myself instead of making a scene. By the way, I found the item I needed without assistance. I purchased the BOGO of the 10 Milwaukee blade on 25 Dec 2020. I have yet to receive my completed order. Heres my dilemma1. Following a critical review of the Carmichael, Ca Ace hardware, I spent over an hour round trip to store with my wife who was recovering from major back surgery as driver as I had just had major ankle surgery.Steve the store manager told me (after calling me several disgusting names in front of the cashiers and customers) that he canceled my order to pay me back for writing a critical review. My wife was mortified. I was in shock. I went there for a remote for a my ford focus, the remote was not cheap they charged me 53.00 bucks. It worked when i did it with one of their employees. A week later it just STOPPED working button by button. So I went back and tried getting it exchanged. The guy who handles and WHO IS TRAINED to program the remote his name is John Rice, he was stuck up from the beginning, told me that i didnt program it correctly. Even after i told him it worked when we programmed it the first time. So he took a same remote and tried programming again. Then told me it was my cars fault. I told him okay. So i got my car tested for any problems on my end. There was nothing wrong. I went back there, and they didnt even wanna help me anymore. I was waiting for 10 mins just to be told they were going to do a refund on it. They didnt even make not one more attempt to fix the problem. After i wasted my time going to the mechanics. The....... guy that was trained to handle the remotes was so stuck up and rude didnt even apologize for the inconvenience. They acted like it was all my fault. I sat in my car and cryed because i thought i wasted so much money and time to be treated like i didnt matter, because im a women. So i went back in there to talk to the useless manager about my ordeal. He came cocky and arrogant. His response was whats the issue, I told him what his employee did. He gave me a rude response saying his merchandise was defective. Even though it was for sale to the public. He knew this but still selling the remotes. As i was talking to him he walked away with his hand in my face telling to leave. With his cocky employee next to him smiling at misery.I also called corporate nothing was done about it. I went to Amazon a few days later. And got a better remote wih excellent customer service and free shipping it cost a grand total of $6.00. Compared to Aces 53.00 with NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Wide selection although prices might be a little steep for some it is a good location for most hardware needs also has non hardware items
