My girl Chihuahua had surgery at this other one place, sent home same day had a fever with kidney problems, very sick . Call Acess pet hospital and they took her in right away . Save her life, was there for 9 days . Had the BEST doctors and staff . Treated her and us with all respect . Lots of money but so worth it. Thanked everyone there, will never forget the attentive you were with her . Will always recommend! Tops! Always have faith and believe in miracles. Pray ! After 1 1/2 she’s still with us . 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Without a doubt Access saved my 12 year old goldens life. He had a needle in his stomach, fluid in his very space you could imagine and 3 weeks later he is 100% his crazy dog self again. I owe the world to this team and now Bruce can live out his golden years! (No pun intended 💜I would give access a 10 star review rating if I could!

Dr Sarah Zimmerman is an excellent cardiologist. She has treated two of my dogs. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, thorough, and an expert in her field. Even though we moved 3 hours away, we continue to bring our dogs to her. She is one of the best!

Really had a lovely experience here yesterday. My little 4.5 month old Cavapoo puppy Oliver, clearly got into something yesterday. He threw up and initially I didn’t think much of it. But then quickly I realized he was weak, lethargic, wobbly, and drooling - and had a sense he must have eaten something toxic even though I’ve never had a dog do that before. Grabbed what I thought it COULD be, but really had no clue as this dog gets into everything and anything, and rushed over to Access per my normal vet’s recommendation. They took me seriously and took him in right away. I was a god awful blubbering mess once I got there - but they were kind, patient, communicative, and soothing. You can tell from their front desk reception down to the doctors and nurses that they all care about animals AND their humans well being as we.They kept him on watch a few hours, and when his vitals remained normal and he didn’t get worse they gave him a few recommended treatments and I took him home to continue to monitor. I felt they didn’t try to push on me more than he needed, as they could have easily said “we need to monitor him for the night” or “we need tests run” and were very transparent about their opinion and what my options were.He is feeling better today / almost seems back to normal - but I’m super thankful I took him in and got the professional advice and care he needed.I will def be bringing my pup here if ever there is another emergency and recommending Access to others. Thanks again team!

Brought Olive (woof) the evening of 6/24/24…. We were there from 630pm to 1130pm. Got a little antsy from the wait, BUT everyone on duty: triage staff, front office staff, back office staff and doctor were EXCELLENT as always. This is why ACCESS South Bay IS our emergency animal hospital of choice! I appreciate everyone there and what they do for our family members.

This was my third visit to this place which handles all the different kinds of pets very well. How fortunate the South Bay is to have access to compassionate Specialists in Cardiology and Internal Medicine! Dr. Kunz, Internal Medicine, was absolutely wonderful and thoroughly explained everything in such a way we could understand. At a previous visit a year or so ago, my cat was also seen by Dr. Zimmerman, Cardiologist, who was also excellent in explaining everything. The Vet Tech(?) who did the pre-exam fact-finding was a very good listener and communicator (sorry, cant remember her name, but she was wonderful!!). The Front Desk staff are pleasant, friendly, helpful, and just responsive to any needs you may have. All staff members handled my cat compassionately. Its so comforting knowing where to take my darlin in case of an emergency 24/7. The facility is nice-looking and clean and they have a shaded seating area outside to wait in, which was good, since my cat was more comfortable waiting there without dogs around inside the lobby. Yes, pet healthcare is expensive, but consider the knowledge and experience these Specialists must have, and the many years of schooling & training. It is not an easy profession. They earned their credentials and DESERVE to be paid well, same as human doctors/specialists, only they have to learn about many different animals! Pet insurance helps with the expense and to provide peace of mind, but its also very expensive. For myself, it hasnt quite paid off yet, but I guess thats a good thing.

Best bet visit ever. Took my puppy to the ER because he was attacked by another dog and ended up with a laceration on his face. Didnt have to wait at all and they were able to staple his face and clean up the wound without sedation which was shocking because he is so fearful. Got antibiotics and pain medicine and wound is healing nicely. It wasnt even very expensive...also shocking. Anyway every time Ive been there Ive had a very pleasant experience and I dont feel like Im getting ripped off

FAO Manager Torrance Access EmergencyIf I could give zero stars I would!I rarely write complaint letters but I’m so disgusted at tonight’s visit that I feel compelled to put this in writing. At 7.30pm this evening i called Access Torrance to advise them my dog had mysteriously developed lumps and bumps all over him. I was told to bring him down die to a suspected allergic reaction and the wait time was about two hours. We arrived at 8.30pm and we were the only ones in the waiting room. We received a check in message saying our wait was one to two hours. They came and took our dog and told us the doctor would be out shortly.During this time the waiting room filled up and clearly there were some urgent patients which took precedence- understandably so. However after three hours and after seeing a few people go in which were definitely not critical I asked how long they thought it would be. The receptionist told me we were next and would be with us shortly.Thirty minutes later I watched three people go in before us. One with a dog that had eaten a carrot! I guess that was more critical than my dog who was potentially having an allergic reaction to something.I eventually asked for another update and eventually they sent out a technician who was very irritated by having to come and see me and who told me it would be a long wait as he wasn’t critical. At which point I asked why they had not told me that three hours ago so I could have taken him home. They then had the audacity to tell me i had not been there three hours when my check in message very clearly said 8.30 and it was now 11.30pm - and then the icing on the cake - she told me it was a hot spot - when I know 💯 it is not a hotspot! I nearly laughed in her face! He has over 30 lumps all over his body. They are NOT hotspots which I am very familiar with. Clearly she is not trained at all and I clearly know far more than her having owned Newfies for many years. It was laughable. My dog had at least 30 lumps and bumps over his body. These were most likely an allergic reaction. Not hot spots. Does she even know what a hot spot is!! I am also not someone who runs to an emergency vet for a hot spot. Of I go to an emergency vet it’s because I’m worried!! She should be fired for stupidity and lying as she told me the doctor had looked at him. No doctor would have called them hot spots - well we good or they should go back to school !I am absolutely disgusted at the treatment. To wait three hours and not to even be seen by the vet is absolutely outrageous and then to be told by a vet technician who knows less than I do it’s a hot spot! You should be ashamed of the service you provide. I have no problem in waiting for critical patients to be seen before me - but most were not critical unless eating a carrot is! And then to be given some ridiculous diagnosis is absolutely disgraceful treatment. We have in the past had fairly good experiences with you. Our dog Koa had successful surgery earlier this year. But after tonight’s visit I will not be back. We should have been told at the start it was not critical - but to be lied to and to be given false and ridiculous diagnosis is appalling.Shameful treatmentSamantha

I am giving a 10 star review for Dr. Creevy and for the vet tech with the short pride colored haircut ( sorry, I didnt get your name) who were both wonderful. Dr. Creevy was fabulous, listened very well, was compassionate, not in a hurry, and overall a very nice person. This review is for the front desk and three stars is being generous. First of all, no one goes to Access at 10:30 pm unless it is an emergency. Most appointments are emergencies. Two girls checking in and out, and a third possibly entering data on the computer. The two girls checking in were on the younger side, possibly explaining why they were void of communication skills, compassion, unable to have a normal conversation, didnt bother to get up when they see someone struggle to carry a sedated dog out the front door (just watched), didnt use the words please, thank you, or youre welcome, etc. I am writing this because the front desk is the first impression of people coming in and the last impression of people leaving. Get someone at the front desk who has the ability to converse with people under stress. I was not under stress but I watched them interact with those who were and it was heart wrenching. The same with the people that come and take information from the pet owners before they see the doctor. Again, very young, no personality, etc. I think it is the generation who is on the phone all day. They dont communicate except by text. Get front desk people a bit older and experienced in life, it will go a long way. Thank you Dr. Creevy.

Arriving to ACCESS South Bay, check in was very smooth. That’s expected… they want to take your money. Once in there, we were told it was $1500 to proceed to get some answers with our English bulldog and his small breathing issue that occurred that night. After that, it wasn’t enough info and the vet recommended to stay in the hospital for 2 days…$6000 cost. Like normal people, I don’t have that type of money and I was shunned for it. Sorry, I don’t have a vets salary. Long story short, we went home and in a matter of 2 hours my dog died. Mind you, quality of life was never talked about. And I can’t help but feeling if he would have died in their care, I wouldn’t have got that $6000 back.I called the next day to inform them of the situation and asked if I could return the $300 in medicine that we purchased from them that my dog never got an opportunity to take, and of course “Sorry sir, we can’t give you a refund”. What ever, I guess. But then I asked them for all records of everything that took place that night. They assured me that they would send them. I have called twice since then and they still have not given me my records. It was no issue for them to take my money but when I need the information I payed for, it’s like pulling teeth.Do your pet a favor and go somewhere else.
