2024-04-07 22:23:37READ BEFORE POTENTIALLY WASTING TIME AND MONEY!In July 2023, my mother called about getting the family van (2009 Toyota Sienna) quoted for new bushings for the steering rack. She was told that, while its not the usual job they do, we could get it brought in and looked at. What was never verbally mentioned to her, or myself till I was already at the shop, was that wed be paying nearly $300 for the diagnostic. Normally youd be informed how much youll be paying well before you bring any vehicle in. However, we were in a rush to get the steering issue fixed (We were getting ready to move out of state some 2500 miles.)After their diagnosis, I was informed, word-for-word, You should not be driving this car then proceeded to show me everything that was wrong.-First thing they said was the steering was horribly misaligned (Gee, I wonder if there was an issue I mentioned that might indicate such)-They told me the water pump was leaking (It had just been fixed the week prior by our usual mechanic, who was on vacation during this time)-Then as proof they opened the coolant reservoir to show it was bone dry as they said. (You cant directly see the coolant in the tank as it has, what I can best guess, a molded-in splash guard)-They told me the transmission fluid was completely burnt, and showed me a sample. (Fair enough, they do specialize in transmission repair after all. But it sure seemed to have a lot of red still in it for being burnt, nor have I smelled anything unusual)-They said the brakes were to bare metal (There was never any grinding noise that would indicate such)-Lastly, to my knowledge, they said the rear shocks were bad (The only handling issue Ive noticed was the steering)I do not remember absolutely everything I was told that was wrong with the van, nor do I remember the price for said repairs, but it was certainly enough to wait for a second opinion. But till then, to be on the safe side, I needed to fix the empty coolant reservoir. We still had plenty of left over coolant from the previous leak. Put in the funnel and start pouring away. Not even 1 quart makes it in and spills all over the tank and asphalt. Fast forward a week and some change, we bring it to our usual mechanic, now back from vacation, and inform him on everything we were told about. Verbatim, Oh yea, theyre full of %#$&A week later its moving day, and a week after that were in our new home and the van has made it through the trip, weighted down and hauling a trailer, with flying colors.Remember: Learn your car, get informed, get a second opinion, dont stop in a SCAAMCO. The Total means Total waste of time

2024-02-07 21:53:01DONT DO IT! I totally regret the thousands I spent a Antioch Aamco. After explaining the issue and was was told to bring it in, they replaced a trans gasket and I was advised of an oil issue so they did a manifold gasket bringing my total to over 3000. Thinking I received decent service, I took it back to them for brakes and a light issue at which point I was told they werent electricians. Then I was questioned when was the last time I checked my oil and I told them they did just a month ago. It wasnt even registering on the dip stick. Turns out, I looked on receipt, they only filled my truck with half the amount of oil it required! Not only that, when I left the place, another 3000 later, my trailer brakes were no longer working and they couldnt figure it out. So I took it home, figured it out myself, which was simple. There is no reason a reputable place like that shouldnt have been able to fix it, as they were working when I dropped it off. In addition, I was charged 50 for a battery service(x2) that was not done by the looks of the batteries. My rear brakes needed adjusted and I was supposed to take it back for that but decided not to grace them with my business any longer. Of course they added the additional oil at no cost, but my truck could have suffered greatly from that error. In my opinion, I was over charded and received far less than even mediocre service. I DO NOT recommend Antioch Aamco to anyone. Lesson learned.

2024-01-04 17:46:28In the Contra Costa County area, I dont take my vehicle anywhere else. I always get very high-quality service here at AAMCO. Lindsey, the front office clerk, is a doll. Shes extremely professional and goes above and beyond to ensure that customers needs are met.As an example, they recently completed a brake overhaul on my 2006 Dodge Minivan. I had front pads and rotors replaced and rear drums and shoes. A couple of weeks after they finished the job, some really bad juddering began from the rear when stopping. I figured the drums were warped, but since Id just had them replaced, it was too early for them the be worn from normal use. There was a problem. So I took it back to AAMCO. Rather than them trying to pull some legal but shady business to make me pay again to fix it, they identified that the part had failed and fixed it right away at no charge. Despite the time lapse. Havent had a problem since.Thats the kind of honest, quality service you can expect at AAMCO. Highly recommended!
