I bought 3 different species of fish that were fresh. Interestingly, workers will clean the fish for you including the removal of scales and the guts. However, they weigh the first. Basically, you pay guts which are being removed.

One of the newest Ranch 99s, clean and full of well priced produce. Their seafood section is especially nice, where they offer to fry whole fish. They also sell to be priced below Hawaii Supermarket for several items. Also a good place to find satsuma mandarins

Really had a great first time here and got everything i needed. I had trouble finding doubanjiang that i needed for a recipe. I had it written on my phone. I asked 2 employees for help. they both immediately brushed me off about “no english” before even looking at what i was after. I spent a lot of time looking for it independently. Later an older white woman asked one of the same employees for help and he decided to help her. It put a bad taste in my mouth but the store selection is great

This is a great place to go to find ingredients to make Vietnamese dishes. IIm pretty sure this is the best Asian grocery store in town. Has a little work to do to catch up to the Mira Mesa grocery stores but its got a lot of good selection.

99 ranch has the best customer service when it comes to Asian supermarkets. Obsessed with mangosteen, i purchased a large bag but if you know mangosteen, theyre expensive! When i arrived home, several were too old, and had begun rotting. When i came back today for a refund on the bad fruit, the polite elder lady manager refunded the difference for me and bowed her head asking to excuse them. Smooth and easy.

A great market with a large variety of this you can get. I occasionally come here to buy snacks or treats. There is also lots of produce here that is hard to come by in other grocery stores, like durian, jack fruits, and enoki mushrooms.

Horrible horrible horrible, I am an instacart shopper and picked up an order from this ranch market ! Bad experience, none of the workers like to help out with finding certain items. I asked about 4 people and 3 of them yelled at me in their language another one was on the phone and shooed me off to go away. Very rude and disrespectful, being Latina and having a hard time reading labels and I couldnt even get proper help here ! My partner and I had to translate item names and do our own research which took us a while but we did it ourselves . Wouldnt go here again, horrible experience.

Ive been to the 99 Ranch Market in Gardena and Daly City (NorCal) and this is by far the smallest branch one Ive walked into. Its also disorganized.  Stopped by after having an early dinner at Hotpot Hotpot nearby. Parking is difficult. My friend had a handicapped parking placard so we parked at the entrance facing the street thinking parking would be a breeze, but after we finished shopping, we discovered that the street entrance was locked (before 8pm) and so we had to exit the back way and walk back to the car at the street entrance handicapped slot.  My take home shopping trophy of the night was a 28 cm Stainless Steel Yin Yang Style Hot Pot with Partition/Divider (now I can make hot pot with 2 different broths at home!). I had been looking for this online, but didnt want to shell out $25 to $40 on Amazon. Total score at $12.99 for the 2 soup yin/yang hot pot like the one I just saw at the Hot Pot Hot Pot restaurant that evening.

We had the worst experience here yesterday in the meat area, the lady worked there was showing her worst attitude and yelled at me when I was trying to open the bag and smell the meat. (Yes! I got a stinky meat from them before! So right now I do have to smell it every time!) She said I shouldnt open the bag, I should just ask her first instead of opening the bag myself. I was like…but I dont need your help, I didnt rip off the price tag, and I would stick it back myself. She still, continued yelling. Bad service!

This is the soy bean milk I just bought. The texture is apparently weird. Looks likes bad. Asian supermarket. This will be a new shopping spot for me. Prices are great on the things I buy.Most employees dont speak english or act like they dont. Surprising the store is very well stocked. For anything Chinese, you should be shopping here. The wifes family, my in-laws, are from Taiwan, and this is the only market they know for food like home. One of the things I like especially, are the selection of hot-pot items any Chinese family worth their salt would be proud of. They have all your normal thinly sliced meats and a wide variety of mushrooms and veggies but the special items, with yummy goodness in the centers....now thats the ticket!

This is one of the largest 99 Ranch Markets in the Los Angeles area and one of only two quality Asian markets in the San Fernando Valley.This market is nearly always crowded and for good reason (other than not many other options): it is well stocked with a wide variety of Asian goods from produce, meats and seafood (live and frozen), sauces and canned goods, rice, noodles and housewares and kitchen items, to sweets, liquor (Chinese and European) and more.While it is not the most aesthetically attractive, it is a fixture in the area, drawing customers from all over the valley. Yes, the food is all great but the supermarket is overall full of people who are racist. I had a horrible experience would go for the food but the atmosphere isn’t very polite. I don’t think it’s reasonable to be racist in a place were we go and buy something and then pay for it I asked two employees to show me were a certain item was at but they would look at me and ignore me. At that point I got frustrated and had to go to the manager which also wasn’t as polite they give me rude face expressions!

Im a regular here at this store since I work right across the street, the store is nice and I like most of the items I can purchase but the employees really for some reason dont like me. I honestly have no idea if its my skin color since I am a Latino male, but none of them are nice to me nor respectful at all! Since I come here almost 5 days a week Im familiar with their faces. Dull, bored, sad, and overall rude when I say thank you and a nice day they ignore me. As today 10/28/17 I walked in after work, tired to but some good Sapporo beers! :D Im stopped and asked to have my bag removed. Of course I dont really question so I give them it. I swear less than 5 seconds in the store I see 2 girls and 1 guy with backpacks on... I go back and ask excuse me, how come they get to keep their backpacks? They said oh well, if we see them have it we ask them they have 2 employees standing near the exits constantly looking at who exits and who enters. Yet a Latino man who comes here often is always being mistreated? Im not rude to your employees, I dont give them a hard time. I bring good service as a regular here and everyday is the same treatment. Frowns at me when I enter and rude attitude when Im paying.Fix your staff and be fair is all Im asking.Also love your Sapporo...... Thank you for the beers.

I have come to this location for many years. When I noticed that the dairy section of food was not cold at all, and that it was at room temperature, I notified staff. I am really disappointed with the staffs reaction. They said that they were fixing it, but I didnt see anyone around. Well, I dont know how long its gonna take for them to fix it. They should have done something rather than let everything sit there with no proper refrigeration. They should not have let customers buy food that might have been spoiled because the fridge was broken. Just hope no one gets sick after they buy the dairy products from this section today.

Ive been doing a lot of cooking at home. Ive been looking up recipes on YouTube. Quite amazing at what you can learn from watching these videos. 99 Ranch mainly carries Chinese food items. But they do carry a limited selection of ingredients from other South East Asian countries. They sell liquor and have a full meat market, seafood and produce section. They have a bakery, hot Chinese dishes, Dim Sum and sushi for sale. They also sell small electronic appliances like rice cookers, indoor grills etc... So if youre looking for a South East Asian grocery 99 Ranch is a good place to go shop.

I came here looking specifically for ginger honey citron jelly for tea Costco stopped selling it & I cant find it in stores...well it wasnt here either they carry mostly dry teas Disappointed about that but I found many other things I do like...this was my first time in an asian market yeah it smells fishy but they do sell live fish...In the produce section I picked up some baby bok choy, sprouts, napa...I found some peanut sauce base! I love that stuff for my satay chicken...got some oyster sauce for broccoli & thinly shaved beef that I got as well...if youre looking for extremely thin cuts of beef, chicken, & lamb this is the place they also have baby back ribs cut into square size pieces, they even have black chickens...cant wait to use my wonton soup base & I even found a snack sweet & sour dried prunes...very happy with my visit but my quest for the ginger jelly tea continues

I like shopping here, since its away from the other 99 ranch market which is super busy. Today I made a special stop here because I wanted to buy some UDON and Ramen. Great prices. 2/$1.30 for udon and 2/$1.40 for Ramen. Not your dry udon or ramen. these are freshly packed in a clear packaging. They are freshly made and ready to boil in a pan with boiling water. But, this 99 ranch is nice. Its not that busy, but its definitely a bit old. However, the selection here is always interesting. There are things here that you cant find at other 99 ranch markets. Each one is unique in their own. The customer service is not bad either.

I have been going to Ranch Market for years. They have certain vegetables and fruits that many other stores dont have. Of course being an Asian market they have a many different products from Asia.

Ranch 99 carries almost everything I need from the Asian market stand point but their vegetables does not look good. They should observe the good practice from their neighbor,GW Market who constantly trim their vegetables and make sure their produce looks as fresh as possible.

Just visited this place again on 9.1.19. Not sure what happened during the span of summer of 19 but each visit I make this market is getting dingy-er. It looks like they rearranged some isles and items are all over the place. Needs a deep clean and rearranging.

This location is needing an upgrade. It is smaller and cramped. Unfortunately it is situated in a smaller strip mall, so there were not too many shops or restaurants near by, unless you are willing to drive around the neighborhood to get to them.
