We really enjoyed this cute Gelato and Cafe shop! The gelato was delicious, as was my Lavender chai (oh heavens!!). Our family loves trying new coffee places when we travel and staying away from chains (Starbucks, Dutch, etc...) and getting a taste of the area. We will have to come back next time we are in the area.Love from Laveen AZ!

Oceanside seems to outdo itself each time... adding this cafe to its repertoire takes the cake! They serve up delicious, beautiful and thoughtfully made hot and cold fares ....their prices do not complement how amazing everything is!....The ambiance makes this place one of a kind.... beautifully crafted drinks in an artfully crafted place. I had the matcha and my friend had the Chai, delicious!!!!

Great new addition to the Oceanside downtown. Their gelatos are all amazing. I like the Baccio and the lemon are my favorites. They use very high quality coffee and espresso. I’ve a had a couple of lattes and an affogato and all were amazing. Would highly recommend it for that after dinner treat with a nice espresso

This place is amazing! The people there were incredibly friendly. We tried just about every flavor and they were all great. Pistachio was the best! Even with the small size, you can get up to 2 flavors. The gelato is also stored in a more temperature controlled environment. And it seems like some of the flavors rotate out, so keep coming back if you want to check out new ones!I didn’t order any coffee so I can’t speak to that, but the coffee related menu items looked really good. They also have some good tea options.The whole space was also incredibly clean with some indoor seating and an outdoor patio with picnic benches.

Not just gelato, but great coffee too! The staff are super nice and are always ready to accommodate my desire to try new things. I order the same way every time: 3 shots and other ingredients and flavor(s) of your choosing, please and I have never been disappointed. Also found out a few things about my own tastes that I didnt know. Oh, and I almost forgot...best gelato ever!

I am super happy to have found a perfect gelato place in Oceanside! The place was very clean and neat. Conor was very friendly and introduced us to literally every flavor. I was surprised that all the gelatos were made in the place! I had strawberry sorbet and hazelnut which were out of this world! The pistachio flavor was also beyond expectation. My friend told me that her coffee tasted great as well. I am definitely visiting this place again soon!

Wow! I think it’s safe to say this was, hands down, the best gelato I’ve ever had in my life. Every flavor we tried was so rich and true, it was really hard to pick. Opted for chocolate halva and pistachio. It was heaven. Already planning to go again. The staff is so friendly. And what really impressed me was that when you go to pay, they state that tipping is not necessary, they all share profits. I wish more places operated like this.

My wife loves ice cream! But not any ice cream! Coming from Europe and having visited Italy, she (we) loves fabulous coffee and flavorful gelato. So, today, traveling from San Diego to Long Beach, she made me drive back for a new coffee and gelato place. When we arrived, she told me: “If it doesn’t look good, we’ll just get out and leave!”When we entered the shop, it looked so new and clean! The vibe was very modern and European. We loved the place instantly! And the guy there was so nice. He introduced himself, told us his business story, gave us samples, and made it a whole experience for us!It was truly the best gelato we’ve ever had in the US. Our special gelato places are in Portland, OR, or Coronado, CA. But this gelato was almost perfect. I liked the strawberry, bacio, and chocolate flavors. My wife loved hazelnut, tiramisu, pistachio, and the special mango sorbet. She had a large and a medium cup. I had a medium cup. We got four ristrettos and a macchiato on the house. It was a real treat!And guess what? Tomorrow we have plans to visit them again since we are staying in Carlsbad overnight!

Connor was super knowledgeable and friendly. He let me and my wife try every flavor and went over their process thoroughly. The containers for their gelato are top of the line and keeps the gelato at the perfect temperature. I got the cheesecake affogato (gelato with espresso) and was incredibly smooth and rich. My wife got amarena affogato (Italian cherry with espresso). The affogato was different in a good way because they put the espresso in a little pocket on the side rather than drowning the gelato. We also ended up sharing a regular pistachio cup. You can always tell if a gelato place is good from their pistachio. 10/10 for the pistachio. After talking about coffee for a bit, Connor let us sample some of theirs. I left this establishment with so much more knowledge about both coffee and gelato. Incredible service and amazing product.

A place like this is so rare. They deserve every 5 start review they get. From the QUALITY of their gelato and coffee, to their genuine friendliness and hospitality. I only wish I lived closer but I’ll be making the 50 minute commute next time I’m in the mood for authentic gelato and amazing coffee. Amazing 11/10!!

This is an incredible spot! The gelato flavors are all unique and tasty. The coffee is exceptional, probably the best I’ve had, and the lavender chai latte is absolutely amazing. I always love coming here when Im in the area. They have some of the best gelato Ive had period. The staff is always eager to let you sample different flavors and everything Ive tried has been delicious, especially the pistachio 10/10Ive also had some of their coffee and matcha just to try it out. The matcha is made using a whisk and bowl and was yummy. The coffee was honestly just ok, still 5 stars though because the gelato is that good!

This is the most delicious Gelato and the best espresso Ive ever tasted. The owner first gave us a taste test and explanation of several of their fabulous Gelato flavors. And was so friendly and welcoming! Truly enjoyed this experience! They just got rated the third best coffee shop in the US. So well deserved. Here is why this places gets 5 stars. First the employees greet you and create small talk that makes you feel home. Second thier coffee is great tasting. Freshly made and tje vanilla latte hot the spot. Third they sell Gelato ice cream. Thier milk and chocolate flavor is soo good that my kid gave it a high thumbs up. Thisbis my spot for coffee driving up here and a working spot. Plus it is a walk away to the beach. You cant beat the spot.

I wish I could get this place a 1000 stars. The Gelato is housemade, and every flavor is impeccable. Then they are also a coffee shop, and theyve their own beans - and the espresso is the perfect medium tasting roast.Then to add to that the customer service in the family like vibes is indescribable. Every time I come in here, its the kind of place that makes you feel better leaving.... I would come just for the quality of espresso and Gelato.... yet, Im super stoked to find out that later this year they will also be a bakery!Connor and Eric started this place and a gem for Oceanside... 1022 is hands down, the BEST gelato in the San Diego area. I would argue the best Ive EVER had outside of Italy. This place is a do not miss if you are in Oceanside. Let me tell you why...I studied abroad in Sicily, home of gelato. Ive had the hardest time finding ANYTHING close to real Sicilian gelato in the United States. Thats until I found this place. Every single flavor will blow your mind and taste buds. Im all for their classic pistachio, which is made from pistachios grown on the side of Mount Etna. How much more Sicilian can you get!? Their other flavors are insanely delicious, even their vegan flavors as well. They serve coffee and other hot drinks, which pair perfectly.The owners Conor and Eric are amazing (as well as their staff). Honestly the best service you could ask for.I am so lucky to live a few blocks away from this place. If youre in Oceanside there are many dessert options, but 1022 gelato is hands down the BEST.

First time visitors at 1022 but we will be back! We were helped by Conor who gave us a tour de gelato and told us all about his shop. He and his business partners passion for their product is directly reflected in its quality and flavor. The pistachio, hazelnut, and milk chocolate were my favorites but all of the flavors were delicious and fresh. The Afogatto with hazelnut was what I ended up ordering and it was the perfect early afternoon treat. Cant wait to try some of their new flavor combinations! We came here to get my little sister gelato when she was sick. She said it was most phenomenal gelato Shes said in a while which was nice for her but to point out something extra special, the lady who served us at the counter was very sweet and I want to definitely give props to her (to point her out, she had a sweet energy to her with blonde hair and her features were thin yet soft alongside a tattooed forearm). She is fun to talk to and was patient without making us feel like we were rushed to order so that was also a bonus so I apologize for not getting the name. If you know what a V60, 1zpresso, and ristretto all means then you know coffee. And so does 1022. In just my first visit they showed expertise in a range of methods and styles. I had a delicious classic Italian espresso, and a sublime cold brew Ethiopian unlike any I have tried (I am not a cold brew guy). Their choices on the menu are thoughtful and intentional. If you don’t know much about coffee, you don’t have too, the shop has a great atmosphere and you’ll be sure to find a drink you’ll love. Honestly I left impressed and throughly caffeinated. Go hang out, the crew there is awesome. I’ll be back for a pour over.

We were walking by and just decided to go in and were met by the friendliest server. He encouraged us to get as many samples as we wanted and the gelato was awesome. Simply excellent! I will be visiting this place every time Im anywhere nearby. In fact Ill probably also be making special trips to the coast just to stop in! The espresso is wonderful. Made correctly and on an Italian machine. As a former barista, I recognize and appreciate this. The true craftsmanship is there in a way that you do not often see anymore!! The gelato is absolutely delicious and they want you to try all the fun & creative flavors. The staff and owners are so welcoming and hospitable! I recently visited 1002 cafe & gelato (twice) and the place left me absolutely delighted both times. Not only did they serve incredible espresso, and their customer service was top-notch, the pistachio gelato they offered was simply amazing. The service we got was unparalleled, with one of the owners himself walking us through each flavor and letting us try as many as possible. He also explained how they source each of the ingredients, and how they are temperature controlled to maintain the perfect gelato consistency.
